Welcome to Delaware Tech!
On August 18, students and families attended the Welcome Reception and New Student Orientation events at both the Stanton and Wilmington locations. Both events were standing room only, with nearly 1,500 in attendance! College President Dr. Orlando J. George, JR. welcomed the groups, and counselors, faculty and staff were on hand to share information and answer questions.

CIS Student Robin Depto Selected by NASA for Design Program

Only 76 Aerospace Scholars selected nationwide

Computer Information Systems (CIS) student Robin Depto has been selected as an Aerospace Scholar, one of only 76 students representing community colleges across the country. He traveled to NASA's Johnson Space Center in Houston this month to participate in a three-day on-site event to develop robotic explorers.

As a participant in the National Community College Aerospace Scholars pilot program, Depto completed four web-based assignments and his exemplary work qualified him for this experience. In Houston, Depto and other scholars developed fictional companies interested in Mars exploration, and worked alongside NASA engineers to develop a prototype rover.

“We are so proud of Robin and all that he has accomplished,” remarked Mary Marchegiano, chair of Delaware Tech’s Electronics / Electrical Technology program. NASA’s Johnson program manager Deborah Hutchings agreed: "These students have a unique opportunity to preview how a career in science, technology, engineering or math can lead them on a journey of space exploration."

Congratulations Robin!
